When granting or renewing a medicinal product manufacturing licence, regulators check closely that companies consistently and adequately follow the quality standards set out in the GMP ("Good Manufacturing Practice") guidelines. These rules cover, among other things, everything related to the impact of personnel on the quality of processes and products. (Re)qualification of staff is a requirement to ensure GMP guidelines are continuously applied, safeguarding the safety, quality, and efficacy of medicinal products. Regular (refresher) training, with the frequency properly recorded, is essential so that employees stay up to date with the current GMP rules that apply to their work.
